| ...... a lot of people, especially Canadians have fantasies about life in the South Seas, you know... that sort of tropical Paradise where you can go back to nature, and live a carefree existence away from the stress and pollution of fast lane city life. It is few however who actually escape, and then even fewer who manage to actually find that South Seas Paradise. You can look in Hawaii, Fiji, Samoa the Caribbean but you are going to find that life in the tropics is not the Paradise you might have dreamed about. A careful check of climatic statistics will reveal that most of the well known Vacation Islands are stinking hot, day and night, all year round! Yes you will be sweating unless you are sitting in an air conditioned room in a first class hotel which costs? and this is not what you could call back to nature, then there are the bugs, tropical places are bug infested, mosquito infested and worse, nono infested in many islands from New Zealand to the Marquesas, what does this mean? it means that you cannot sit on the beach under a palm tree for very long without a massive dose of repellent. My dream was to find the perfect place to live, this should be the dream of a lot of people but it is rare that you find someone who has actually pursued this really worthwhile endeavor, to find the worlds best Island, (click on the photos below to see enlargements). |
